Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work Course @ Stamford Guides Hall. 21st March 2015
Darren taught the level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work Course to the guide leaders from and around the Stamford area. The course was held at the Guides hall, Conduit Road, Stamford.
this level 2 qualification is valid for 3 years and is accredited by OFQUAL.
The topics covered were:
• What is Emergency First Aid? • Legislation • Responsibilities • Action in an emergency • Primary survey • Secondary assessment • The respiratory system • Resuscitation • Disorders of respiration • Adult basic life support • Foreign objects • Disorders of the circulation • Minor burns and scalds • Epilepsy • Wounds and bleeding
All the candidates successfully gained their qualification.
As well as covering the qualification outcomes, due to the nature of the guide leaders job and who they look after, Darren also taught CPR, and choking protocols for children and infants.
