Teachers targets for workplace violence

In an article published by the NASUWT, statistics show that being a teacher is the fourth most risky profession for workplace violence, after security guards, police officers and carers according to figures from the British Crime survey.

The overall number of physical assaults in schools rose by 10% in 2010/2011 to 341,000.

There were over 6000 injuries caused by violence in schools and nearly half of all victims had been previously assaulted at work.

These figure are of incidents that have been reported, so how many have there actually been.

MJD Training provides training to help staff in these situations, giving them the skills and confidence to protect themselves and others, and promote a safe environment to work in.
